Crispy air fried tortellini with golden parmesan edges and cheesy centers. This easy appetizer is quick to make, perfect for parties, and gives you a crunchy bite without deep frying.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8–10 minutes
Total Time: 18–20 minutes
Servings: 4
9 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp chopped parsley, for garnish
1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the tortellini until just tender, according to the package instructions.
2. Drain well and let the tortellini sit for 2–3 minutes so excess moisture can evaporate.
3. In a large bowl, toss the tortellini with olive oil.
4. Add parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
5. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F.
6. Arrange the tortellini in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving a little space between pieces.
7. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket once halfway through, until golden brown and crisp on the edges.
8. Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with parsley before serving.
Drain the tortellini very well so the coating sticks better and the edges crisp properly.
Do not overcrowd the basket. Cook in batches if needed for the best texture.
Finely grated parmesan works better than shredded parmesan for an even crispy coating.
Serve right away for the best crunch.
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
Swap Italian seasoning for ranch seasoning for a different flavor.
Use cheese-filled mini tortellini for more bite-sized party snacks.
Serve with warm marinara on the side if you want a dipping option.
