Use russet potatoes for the best fluffy center and crisp skin.
Drying the potatoes well before oiling helps the skins crisp better.
Do not overcrowd the basket, or the skins may steam instead of crisp.
Smaller potatoes may cook faster, while larger ones may need a few extra minutes.
For the best texture, open the potatoes while hot and add butter right away.
If you want extra crisp skin, air fry 2–3 minutes longer after turning.
Add shredded cheddar cheese and green onions on top.
Serve with sour cream and chopped chives.
Add cooked bacon bits for a loaded baked potato version.
Use garlic butter instead of plain butter for more flavor.
Sprinkle with paprika or ranch seasoning before serving.
Top with steamed broccoli and cheese for a heartier side dish.
