Easy air fryer beef and broccoli with tender strips of beef, crisp broccoli, and a quick savory sauce. It is a fast weeknight dinner that tastes takeout-style but feels lighter and simpler to make at home.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10–12 minutes
Total Time: 25–27 minutes
Servings: 4
1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
4 cups broccoli florets
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon sesame seeds, optional
2 tablespoons sliced green onions, optional
Cooked white rice, for serving
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, sesame oil, black pepper, and water.
2. Add the sliced beef to the bowl and toss well to coat. Let it sit for 10 minutes while you prepare the broccoli.
3. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F.
4. Arrange the beef in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry for 4 minutes.
5. Shake the basket, add the broccoli around the beef, and cook for 4 to 6 more minutes until the beef is browned and the broccoli is crisp-tender.
6. If needed, cook in batches so the beef browns instead of steaming.
7. Transfer everything to a bowl and toss gently so the sauce coats the broccoli well.
8. Serve hot over rice and finish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Slice the beef very thinly for the most tender texture and fastest cook time.
Do not overcrowd the basket or the beef will steam instead of caramelize.
If your broccoli florets are very large, cut them smaller so they cook evenly with the beef.
Use chicken instead of beef for an easy air fryer chicken and broccoli version.
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a little sriracha for heat.
Swap the rice for cauliflower rice or serve it on its own for a lighter dinner.
