24 wonton wrappers
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 green onions, finely sliced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 egg, beaten, or water for sealing
Cooking spray or light oil spray
Sweet chili sauce or soy-garlic sauce, for dipping
1. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, and soy sauce until smooth.
2. Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
3. Brush the edges with beaten egg or water.
4. Fold the wrapper into a triangle or pouch shape, pressing the edges tightly to seal.
5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
6. Place the wontons in a single layer, leaving space between each one.
7. Spray the tops lightly with oil.
8. Air fry at 350°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway if needed, until golden and crispy.
9. Serve warm with sweet chili sauce or soy-garlic dipping sauce.
Do not overfill the wontons, or they may burst while cooking.
Seal the edges tightly so the cream cheese stays inside.
Cook in batches if needed. Crowding the basket can make the wontons less crispy.
Spray lightly with oil for better browning and crunch.
Let them cool for 2–3 minutes before serving because the filling will be hot.
Crab Rangoon Style: Add finely chopped imitation crab or real crab meat to the cream cheese filling.
Spicy Cream Cheese Wontons: Add a little sriracha, chili flakes, or diced jalapeño to the filling.
