Notes / Tips

  • Use bakery-style butter croissants for the best flaky texture.

  • Do not overfill the croissants, or the cheese may leak too much during cooking.

  • If the tops brown too quickly, lower the temperature slightly or check them earlier.

  • Serve them warm for the best melty cheese center.

  • A thin layer of mustard adds flavor, but you can leave it out for a milder version.

Variations

  • Swap the Swiss cheese for cheddar, provolone, or mozzarella.

  • Use turkey instead of ham for a lighter version.

  • Add a few thin tomato slices for extra freshness.

  • Sprinkle a little black pepper or Italian seasoning inside for more flavor.
