12 oz mini mozzarella balls or low-moisture mozzarella cubes
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/3 cup grated Parmesan
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
Cooking spray
Marinara sauce, for serving
1. Pat the mozzarella very dry with paper towels.
2. Dip each piece in flour, then egg, then panko mixture.
3. For extra crisp coating, dip again in egg and panko.
4. Freeze the coated mozzarella bites for 45 minutes.
5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
6. Spray the bites lightly with cooking spray and air fry for 7–9 minutes, until golden and crisp.
7. Serve hot with warm marinara sauce.
Freeze before cooking so the cheese does not leak too fast.
Use panko for the crispiest coating.
Do not overcrowd the basket.
Check early — mozzarella melts quickly.
Garlic Parmesan: Add extra Parmesan and garlic powder to the panko.
Spicy: Add a pinch of cayenne or chili flakes.
