Servings: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 18–22 minutes
Total Time: 28–32 minutes
Yield: about 35–45 banana chips
2 firm bananas
1 tablespoon melted butter or coconut oil
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1. Slice the bananas into thin, even rounds and toss them with melted butter or coconut oil.
2. Mix the sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt, then coat the banana slices lightly.
3. Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
4. Air fry at 300°F for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway through, until lightly golden and mostly dry.
5. Let the banana chips cool for 5–10 minutes so they crisp up fully.
Use firm bananas so the slices hold their shape better.
Cut the slices evenly for more even cooking and crisping.
Do not overcrowd the basket, or the chips may turn soft instead of crisp.
For a warmer flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice to the cinnamon sugar.
For a lighter version, reduce the sugar and use extra cinnamon instead.
For a sweeter finish, dust the cooled chips with a little extra cinnamon sugar.
