Thin apple slices turn into crispy air fryer apple chips with curled edges, cinnamon sweetness, and a simple 25-minute snack method.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20–25 minutes
Total Time: 30–35 minutes
Servings: 4
2 medium apples, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1–2 teaspoons sugar or brown sugar, optional
1 teaspoon lemon juice, optional, to help prevent browning
1. Wash and dry the apples. Slice them very thinly, about 1/8 inch thick, using a sharp knife or mandoline.
2. Remove any seeds, then lightly toss the apple slices with cinnamon, sugar, and lemon juice if using.
3. Preheat the air fryer to 300°F.
4. Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if needed so they do not overlap too much.
5. Air fry for 20–25 minutes, flipping or shaking halfway through, until the edges curl and the chips look dry and golden.
6. Let the apple chips cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. They will crisp up more as they cool.
Slice the apples evenly. Thin, even slices cook faster and turn crispier.
Do not overcrowd the basket. Too many slices at once will steam instead of crisp.
Let them cool before judging the texture. Apple chips become crunchier after resting.
For extra crisp edges, add 2–3 more minutes at the end, but watch closely so the sugar does not burn.
Cinnamon Sugar Apple Chips: Add 1–2 teaspoons sugar or brown sugar with the cinnamon.
Plain Apple Chips: Skip the sugar and use only apples and cinnamon.
Apple Pie Chips: Add a tiny pinch of nutmeg with the cinnamon.
Extra Crispy Apple Chips: Slice the apples thinner and cook in smaller batches.
