Servings: 4
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 8–10 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
2 cups cold prepared mac and cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Cooking spray
1. Scoop cold mac and cheese into small bite-size balls.
2. Place flour, beaten eggs, and panko mixed with Parmesan and garlic powder into three separate bowls.
3. Coat each mac and cheese bite in flour, dip in egg, then roll in the panko mixture.
4. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray. Place bites in a single layer.
5. Air fry at 380°F for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
6. Let cool for 2–3 minutes before serving with marinara, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Use cold mac and cheese so the bites hold their shape better.
Do not overcrowd the basket, or the coating may not crisp evenly.
For extra crispiness, spray the bites lightly before air frying.
If the mixture feels too soft, chill the shaped bites for 10–15 minutes before breading.
Spicy Style: Add a pinch of cayenne or hot sauce to the mac and cheese.
Bacon Cheddar Style: Mix in a little cooked crumbled bacon before shaping.
Pizza Style: Serve with warm marinara and add Italian seasoning to the breadcrumbs.
