Ranch & Crispy Air Fryer Potatoes (Guess the Secret Flavor!)

These easy air fryer potato recipes give you all the fun of fries, wedges, and “loaded” potatoes — with almost no oil. You’re on Level 4 of the Secret Kitchen Club, Potato Edition, where one simple ranch seasoning hack turns basic potatoes into something you’ll want to make again and again. On this level you’ll learn ranch potato wedges, extra crispy garlic herb cubes, and cheesy loaded bites that are perfect for leftovers.

Secret Ingredient: dry ranch seasoning

Here’s the simple hack behind Level 4. A spoonful of dry ranch seasoning mix adds salt, herbs, garlic, and a little tang right to the potatoes — so every wedge tastes like it’s already dipped in ranch.

Why it works:

  • Loads the wedges with flavor without making them heavy or soggy.

  • Creates a tangy, herby crust that bakes right onto the potatoes.

  • Saves time — you get ranch flavor in every bite, even without a separate dip.

Level 4 Main Recipe #1: Crispy Ranch Potato Wedges

This is your Level 4 base recipe — simple, kid-friendly potato wedges with all the ranch flavor baked right into the crust. No deep frying, no frozen bags of fries, just fresh potatoes, ranch seasoning, and your air fryer.

Servings: 3–4

Prep Time: 10 minutes (plus optional 15–20 minutes soaking)

Cook Time: 15–20 minutes
Total Time: 25–30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 medium russet potatoes (or any starchy potatoes)

  • 1 ½ tbsp oil

  • 1 tsp salt (adjust if ranch mix is salty)

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 2–3 tbsp dry ranch seasoning mix

Directions

Step 1

Cut the wedges. Wash the potatoes well. Cut each potato into wedges (about 8 wedges per potato)..

Step 2
Optional soak. For extra crispiness, soak the wedges in cold water for 15–20 minutes, then drain and pat very dry.
Step 3
Season. Place wedges in a large bowl. Add oil, salt, pepper, and dry ranch seasoning. Toss until every wedge is evenly coated.
Step 4
Preheat and arrange. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Arrange wedges in a single layer. Slight overlapping is okay, but don’t pack them too tightly.
Step 5
Air fry. Cook for 15–20 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket halfway. Wedges are ready when the edges are golden and crisp and the centers are soft.
Step 6

Serve. Serve hot with ranch dip, ketchup, or any favorite sauce.
Mini Hack: If you like extra flavor, sprinkle a bit more ranch seasoning over the wedges right after cooking while they are still hot.
Extra Note: This method also works with sweet potato wedges — just reduce the cooking time slightly.
